Pastoral Care

The pastoral care system at Drumragh aims to ensure that all staff and students are valued as individuals. We provide a secure, caring ethos which allows for students’ spiritual, emotional, academic and social development. Drumragh is a child- centred college and one of its main strengths is the quality of its staff-student relationships. Students are monitored in their progress and their well-being, both formally and informally; there are close links between the academic and pastoral systems, with one complementing the other.

Each student is looked after by a Form Teacher and a Head of Year, with the support of the Head of Pastoral Care, the Vice-Principal and the Principal. The college Special Needs Co-ordinator is also available for those with particular learning or emotional needs.

We recognise that sometimes students require additional help to cope with the demands of today’s society. Our Learning Mentor and professional counsellors are available to support students during periods of emotional difficulty or to address issues which can impede a student’s ability to fulfil their potential.
