Aims:
- To foster an enthusiasm and curiosity for religious issues
- To develop students’ awareness, knowledge and understanding of Christianity and other world religions, religious traditions and world views.
- To enable students to develop respect for and sensitivity to others, in particular those whose faiths, beliefs and world views are different from their own.
- To encourage students to think for themselves about religious and moral issues and to develop their sense of identity and belonging.

Extra Curricular Activities / Trips
- The R.E department help organise all the main Christian assemblies, Christmas, Ash Wednesday and Easter. They have established successful links with the local clergy, who are regular attenders at these assemblies.
- The R.E department warmly welcomes visiting speakers/guests which helps enrich and benefits students learning. Past speakers have been from Scripture Union and local churches.
- The R.E department actively engages and supports charity work. Past events include the MS walk, two years in a row, Samaritan Purse Shoe-Box Appeal and the Omagh Food Bank.
- Students studying Religious Studies A level have the opportunity to go to London. They visit the Amnesty International Headquarters.
